Client Relationship Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as lead point of contact for an allocated client portfolio and build long-term trusted relationships.
- Oversee delivery of statutory accounts, corporation tax CT600, self assessment, VAT returns, and management accounts.
- Review and supervise work prepared by trainees, bookkeepers, and assistants and provide coaching.
- Identify tax planning, efficiency, and growth opportunities and raise these proactively with clients and directors.
- Manage job budgets, timelines, and work in progress across the portfolio and monitor all HMRC and Companies House deadlines.
- Support onboarding of new clients including engagement letters, AML and KYC checks, and HMRC agent authorisations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Masters degree or higher in Accounting and Finance — essential.
- Professional qualification ACCA, ACA, CTA, or ATT — qualified, part-qualified, or actively studying — desirable.
- Proven experience in a UK accountancy practice managing a client portfolio.
- Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP FRS 102/105, corporation tax, self assessment, VAT, and Companies Act filing requirements.
- Confident with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Taxcalc, or BTC.
- Right to work in the UK and eligible to act under HMRC agent authorisation.
