Client Relationship Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the lead point of contact for an allocated client portfolio, building long-term trusted elationships and becoming a valued adviser to each client.
Drive business development through referrals, networking, and cross-selling additional services to existing clients.
Identify tax planning, efficiency, and growth opportunities and raise these proactively with clients and directors.
Lead onboarding of new clients, including engagement letters, AML and KYC checks, and HMRC agent authorisations, ensuring a smooth first impression.
Oversee delivery of statutory accounts, corporation tax CT600, self assessment, VAT returns, and management accounts across the portfolio, acting as the bridge between clients and the delivery team.
Manage job budgets, timelines, and work in progress, and monitor all HMRC and Companies House deadlines so clients are never caught out.
Gather client feedback and act on it to continually improve service and retention.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A natural relationship-builder with strong commercial awareness and a proactive, client-first mindset.
Masters degree or higher in Accounting and Finance, or professional qualification ACCA, ACA, CTA, or ATT (qualified, part-qualified, or actively studying).
Proven experience in a UK accountancy practice managing a client portfolio, ideally with a track record of growing fees or winning new work.
Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP FRS 102/105, corporation tax, self assessment, VAT, and Companies Act filing requirements.
Confident with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Taxcalc, or BTC.
Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical matters clearly to business owners.
Right to work in the UK.
